extras in Leopard QC

Posted by roger on October 27th, 2007

It’s out and it’s good. So many new features in Leopard QC that it should take us all weeks to just get to grips with them all. Here’s some things that are not so obvious to give you even more to play with.

Does anyone want an updated Quartonian Mixer?

Posted by roger on August 19th, 2007

My quartonian mixer still gets a lot of downloads, I’m not sure exactly why that is because it’s pretty clunky in it’s current state. The latest Kineme quartz plugins would let me make it a lot easier to use if I used all those, eg adapt it to use the “Folder Movies” patch “Image [...]

Posted by roger on August 18th, 2007

Grab them here, scroll down and ignore the top bit, you don’t need to install anything else to get them to work, just wanted to put them on the same page as the FCP plugins.

Kineme: Developers of qc plugins

Posted by roger on August 15th, 2007

Kineme has been active for a long time delving into the unofficial api to expand Quartz Composer in Tiger. They’ve now setup a new website Kineme.net and are actively promoting themselves as consultants / developers for all things Quartz Composer. I’ve used their services and was very happy with the result, highly recommend [...]

Round up of QC plugins

Posted by roger on May 13th, 2007

Since Leopard has been delayed to October we still don’t have an official way of creating new nodes in Quartz Composer. That’s not stopping plenty of people from creating one’s using the undocumented unofficial API and in fact FDIV.net has just published an X Code template to make the whole process easier. Here’s [...]

Anxiously awaiting Leopard QC…

Posted by roger on January 8th, 2007

Not so much time for Quartonian website as I’ve been working on future versions of the Noise Industries plugins and playing with some very cool stuff from Vidvox (which isn’t public yet). It’s nice to be earning some money with QC work.
But this blog ain’t dead. I’ll be posting up some info about [...]

My latest Quartz Composer eforts are now available for purchase. I’ve been working for quite some time on a two plugin packs for Final Cut Pro and Motion using Noise Industries FxFactory. Finally they’re out the door and on sale.

more QC secrets in “Private Defaults.plist”?

Posted by roger on September 23rd, 2006

FDIV has recently revealed that just typing “defaults write -g QCRegisterPrivatePatches 1″ and “defaults write -g QCShowPrivatePatchSettings 1″ in the terminal you can enable 61 new private patches in QC and some extra settings in the Billboard and “Image with Movie” patches. I went hunting around and found some other settings inside the Quartz [...]

FDIV Composition Loader + more new patches….

Posted by roger on September 23rd, 2006

FDIV has managed to reproduce the functionality that Apple removed in version 10.4.7 of Mac OS X by creating an “Image with Composition” loader patch. Also, FDIV has coded three other patches, MIDI Global IN Note, MIDI Global OUT Note and File Type. Massive thanks to FDIV for making these freely available [...]

more hidden QC patches from FDIV

Posted by roger on August 22nd, 2006

FDIV has exposed some additional hidden QC patches in a composition available for download from his blog. The evidence suggests that these might be available offically in Leopard but for those who can’t wait to tinker go for it.
FDIV has also written new patches that look very useful for additional midi control and reading [...]
