It’s out and it’s good. So many new features in Leopard QC that it should take us all weeks to just get to grips with them all. Here’s some things that are not so obvious to give you even more to play with.
Compile and Install the Plugins for more patches.
There’s a lot of examples in /Developer/Examples/Quartz Composer/Plugins
Compile these XCode projects and drop the resulting bundles into /Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Plug-Ins to get even more patches in QC. Especially good are the Freeframe host and ImageInfo. Using ImageInfo you can see an extra output of an image in the settings pane. This is really handy as a preview window for VJ style applications.
Enable QC Leopard private patches
Type in the following command for access to leopard hidden patches
Just like Tiger there are private patches in Leopard which can be revealed by typing a command line command. Thanks to Steve Mokris at Kineme.net for finding these.
defaults write -g QCShowPrivatePatches 1
Great, there is a lots of usefull features, I think now we can build hard VJ tools with QC
