quite a few of the fx use custom kernels but not all. Many of them only use the free CI kernels which Noise Industries has made available, especially the channel splitting and joining kernels.

jit.gl.imageunit comes very close. It doesnt allow loading compositions, but raw Core Image Units in as textures to be applied as geometry/stream processing.

Thanks for the info -

The plugins are Quartz Composer comps that get wrapped up as FxPlug effects. On my packs the comps are encrypted so that users can't get to the compositions, on some of the effects you can open and edit the Quartz Composition. So no, there wouldn't be a way of using these in Jitter as they are more than just Core Image filters.

It would be cool if someone could write a Jitter plugin which allows Quartz Compositions to be effects chains, eg input an image from Jitter, apply the quartz comp to the video stream then render it.

Hey - I just checked out the Noise FX site and checked out the demo movies. Very nice stuff. Im curious, how much of that stuff is custom kernels? Are these only Motion plugins, or are they released as Core Image plugins? I ask because id love to take these for a spin in Jitter, and I can load Core Image plugins via Jitter, but not Motion/FCP plugins.

What was the development process? How much of the plugins were made in pure Quartz Composer?

Obviously Fx Factory is a Cocoa app doing some wrapping. Im assuming with the Quartz weather data example, your placing it within something equavalent of 'render as image', or somesuch?

Id love some details.

Anyway, I see the Noise FX stuff all the time installing Avids and FCP systems, congrats - nice job!
